Gracelands Strawberry Fields
Gracelands is a small family owned winery in Stellenbosch run by Paul and Susan McNaughton with just their children helping out at harvest time. They make only red wine in small quantities.
What’s it like?
It’s a blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in oak. Good strong red fruit flavours (hence the name), well balanced acidity and tannin, full bodied with good length. Very enjoyable on it’s own or will pair very well with food. In fact it was awarded a very commendable 4 Stars by John Platter. Give it a try and support Paul and Susan!
How much? Where from?
Gracelands Strawberry Fields is available from a couple of good independent wine merchants, but the best deal we’ve found is with www.goodwineonline.co.uk at £14.75
