Johner Pinot Noir Gladstone Wairarapa 2004

johnerYes, this wine is made by the famous wine producing Johner family from Baden in Germany. They felt the conditions on the southern tip of North Island were ideal for producing excellent Pinot Noir. While Marlborough has the reputation, Wairarapa is now also producing some top quality wines.

What’s it like?

This Pinot Noir has good fruit and acidity. It’s full in the mouth, smooth with a lingering finish. Fairly decent wine but as value for money there are a lot of other Pinot’s out there, from Marlborough and now from Otago as well, which offer better value.

How much? Where can I buy it?
