Babich is a well respected family winery originally based around Auckland. As they’ve expanded over the years they’ve either bought out or bought shares in several other vineyards, particularly around the Marlborough region. They’re now run by the third generation of the family.

What’s it like? Where can I buy it?

Light and buttery flavours, medium body with a crisp finish. It’s an enjoyable bottle of wine, although the acidity is noticeable for a Chardonnay so it’s best paired with food. It’s available from Halisham Cellars for £7.49
