Hugh Hamilton ‘The Villain’ Cabernet Sauvignon Mclaren Vale 2006
The Hamilton winery is one of the oldest in Australia, dating back to 1837, and Hugh is the 5th generation of his family to run the place. It’s a family affair with his wife, Pam and daughter, Mary, and they make some quite exceptional wines.
What’s it like?
Big nose of chocolate followed by strong fruit and caramel flavours in the mouth, supremely balanced by the high alcohol and integrated tannins. It’s a delicious big, smooth wine with incredible length. This wine is something special.
