Claymore Clare Valley Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz 2006

darkside-lgWhat a wine. Clare Valley is one of South Australia’s premier wine producing regions and this boutique wine is only made in limited quantities by this small, family producer. Produced from 70 year old vines from Claymore’s best two vineyards. Now that’s old by Aussie standards!

What’s it like?

Big, fruit driven and smooth with bags of flavour. It’s not the ‘peppery’ style as some Aussies can be. It’s just been awarded 90 points out of 100 by Wine Advocate Magazine, with the 2005 getting 90 points from Robert Parker, and the 2004 won the ‘Best Australian Red’ at the Singapore Wine Show, so it’s not just good it’s consistently good!

How much? Where do I get it?

There’s only one place you can buy this wine in the UK at present and that’s from www.goodwineonline.co.uk . The Claymore Clare Valley Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz 2006 is great value at £11.99
