From Bodega NQN in Patagonia. This is a remarkble state of the art winery built into the side of a hill, producing some quite superb wines.

What’s it like?

In a word – fantastic. This is the show piece wine from this estate. It’s made from selected bunches of grapes, fermented then aged in French oak for 15 months with a further 20 months in bottle prior to release. Good fruit with a slight spice and vanilla from the wood. Structured, wonderfully smooth with great length and rounded tannins. Already drinking well thanks to the time spent in wood but will keep for many years if required, although I’d drink it now! This is a superb bottle of wine which won Gold Medal in the Argentine Wine Awards and the Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
