El Porvenir de los Andes is a remarkable family owned winery situated in the Salta district of North West Argentina at altitude. Due to the unique messoclimate of their vineyards, the region’s 320 days a year of sunshine  and the dedication of  the family to producing only top quality wine, they make some truly stunning wines in limited quantities. Every single one of their wines is excellent, and their Laborum range are simply magnificent.

What’s it like?

Their ‘blue’ blend consists of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot aged for 6 to 8 months in French oak. It’s a stunner and sells out so fast in Argentina they don’t even put it on their website. Delicious fruit flavours with a velvety mouth feel and good body and a really long finish. The wine’s secret is it’s superb balance and cleansing acidty making it perfect with food, although I love it on it’s own too. This is a great bottle.
