Chilean White Wines
There’s a vast array of inexpensive Chilean white wines available from online wine merchants. The vineyards in Chile stretch over an area of 800 miles north and south in a series of beautiful, scenic valleys between the Andes and the Coastal Ranges.
Chile has a very similar climate to that of California and the country’s vineyards are mostly affected by their location east to west between two mountain ranges, rather than north and south. The best vineyards in Chile are sited on the west facing slopes of the Andes. These vineyards benefit from cool night time temperatures, which produce high levels of acidity and good concentration of fruit. This is particularly ideal for Sauvignon Blanc.
