Chilean Red Wines
Chilean wine is made in the South American country of Chile, which has a long history for a New World wine region which dates back to the 16th century. Chile is the fifth largest exporter of wines in the world, as well as the ninth largest producer.
The climate in Chile has been known to be that between California and France. Its most common grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere. Chile’s vineyards are found along an 800 mile stretch of land from Atacama Region to the Bio-Bio Region in the south.
Chile is very capable of producing some world class reds, making Chilean red wines a true favourite for many. Available from wine merchants throughout the UK are the likes of Aresti Estates Family Collection Blend Rio Claro 2010, their Merlot and their Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon.
